Work Created for Internship with VCU Business Career Services

As a marketing intern for VCU Business Career Services in the summer of 2021, I was able to strategize communication and curate content. One thing I did as an intern for VCU BCS was develop a marketing communications plan for the 2021-2022 school year. I planned two relevant emails each month for students of 10 different majors within the VCU School of Business. Another thing I did for this internship was create 12 different career-related Canva presentations to be shown to undergraduate students. I also overlooked the VCU Business Career Services website in order to offer advice on how to make it more accessible, visually pleasing, and overall more functional. In this internship, I was able to grow my skills in creating eye-catching communication content. I was also able to better learn how to strategize communicating content to different audiences.

12 Presentations Created to be Viewed by Undergraduate Students

For these presentations, I took information that I was given and strategically created each to be organized and educational. I wanted each presentation to be eye-catching and concise enough to keep the attention of busy young students. Only 1 presentation remains available for public view. Marketing Communications Plan 2021-2022 School Year Research/Framework

This is the research and framework created in order to execute the marketing communications plan itself. I had to understand each type of student within the VCU Business School, as well as how job recruitment cycles work for different positions and fields. To see the framework,

Marketing Communications Plan 2021-2022 School Year

This is the final marketing communications plan I created. I was responsible for creating an interesting subject line and to add a useful resource to be the subject of each email. I had to make sure to use relatively reputable sources, and to use content that is relevant to the time of year. To see the final plan, click the link below.

Work Created for Internship with Remarkably Different Marketing

As a marketing intern for Remarkably Different Marketing in the summer of 2019, I had the joy of working with various different companies to help promote their businesses. These companies were Re-Claim It Restoration & Carpet, Holland Homes, Cucinamore, Tails of Loudoun County, and the local Coldstone Creamery.  I was able to curate social media posts, use graphic design for logos and other media, write informational articles, participate in various promoting events, and hold meetings with these clients to discuss plans of action. On this page, I included a few of the graphics I made, an article I wrote for Re-Claim It, research I did for a newsletter article for Holland Homes, and some of the social media posts I crafted for Re-Claim It. I had such a great time and experienced major growth by learning more about marketing and communications through this internship.

Cucinamore E-mail Banner

This is the e-mail banner I created for Cucinamore that went at the top of every e-mail that detailed confirmed reservations. This company was led by a woman who went to customers' homes to teach recipes and create a fun experience with cooking. The colors chosen were to highlight her Italian cooking, and the logo was included as a main focal point. The banner was created using Canva, and the e-mails I helped create were sent out using MailChimp.

Cucinamore Website Recipe Option Example

I created this graphic for Cucinamore, as well as with the other recipes, as a part of the options customers could choose regarding what to make for their reserved cooking parties. This was seen on Cucinamore's website and used real pictures of the food to showcase the great quality.

Holland Homes E-mail Banner

This is the e-mail banner I created for Holland Homes to be placed at the top of every e-mail sent out. Yvonne Holland was the realtor, and her information is printed on the banner so clients could easily reach her. I created this graphic using Canva, and the e-mails were sent out using MailChimp. The colors were chosen to fit her aesthetic and her logo was included very apparently.
